Кроме всем известного слова TRAVEL в английском языке много других слов, обозначающих путешествия. Чем же они отличаются и как их правильно употреблять?JOURNEY – the act of travelling from one place to another.
TRIP – a journey to a place and back again.
То есть, если вас встречают в иностранном аэропорту, куда вы поехали в командировку, то вежливо поинтересуются: Did you have a good journey?
А когда вы вернетесь из командировки в свой родной офис, то ваши англоязычные коллеги поинтересуются у вас: Did you have a good trip?
И в обоих случаях предложения будут правильными.

VOYAGE – a long journey usually by sea or in space.
TOUR – a visit round a place of interest, often with a guide.
EXCURSION – a visit to a place of interest, often by coach.
Надо признаться, никогда не слышала, чтобы англичане употребляли слово excursions. Его часто употребляют русские туристы, делая кальку с родного языка. Когда мы ездили на экскурсии, то на английском они назывались, например: Brighton trip, Winchester trip и так далее.
